Grants Journal [Awarded Title: Guru of the Gurus]

Unread post by Grant »

Hi everyone,

After posting the flow chart, i have decided to keep an online journal to document how i trade and show the trades I take using the flow chart as my rules…. I am a part time trader and a full time ship parker (working shifts) so I will post the summary for the days I can get to trade..

Below I have attached the flow chart again and a trade management doc that explains how I manage any open trades….

That being said exits are my down fall so I have no doubt one of the most used sayings when analysing my trades will be “exit could have been better”…
I hope that by showing you my trades you will see how AIMS should (and sometimes shouldn’t) be traded….

So back to today I took the following:

1. +2.7
2. BE
3. +5.7
4. -7
5. -4
6. +10.1
Total : +8.1 (0.62%)

Trade records including pics are posted below. There were a couple of sudden moves that could have been traded today, one was at the time of the CHF red news and the other was the FED announcing dollar liquidity for European banks. Although they were both set ups I decided against them. Typically they both made good pips so well done anyone that took them.

Trade 6 above actually could have made at least 30 pips but I had to leave to pick my kids up from school so closed at +10.1, so for the first time “my exit could have been better…”

Cheers

Grant

***** If you are here for the first time please read through the journal, it will help you a lot... BUT the flow chart i trade now is posted on page 41...

Hi everyone,

Had limited time to trade today with various errands etc

However I did trade the following:

1. +26
2. +3.4
3. -1.4
4. +10

Total : +38 (2.92%)

Trade records including pics are posted below. I missed the trade of the day at NYO, would have yielded around 35 pips depending on the trail used.

Have a great weekend everyone

Cheers

Hi Peter,

i trust your trading is positive..

Serious discipline?? Maybe, maybe not, Imran calls it conservative!!! i just like as many factors i can control in my favour before i place a PO. Does it always work, of course not but i am not chasing entries on so so set ups....

As for the trade records, i feel its an important part of trading. To have the ability to look back over a series of say 25 trades and see a negative pattern forming through either rules broken or SL moves too quick can only help in tweaking the way i trade the system..

many + pips to you

Hi everyone,

Again was on shift for work today so was in and out through London and NY. Was a frustrating day for me on m1 with price action either just a bit too quick for set ups or had too big initial exit points or in some cases just no follow through.

Despite that my trades today are:

1. +12
2. -4
3. -5
4. +21
5. -8
6. -4
7. +14

Total : +26 (2%)

Trade 1 was taken at around midnight UK time last night, which was the 5th wave on m1 after the Italy downgrade news was released, so have included it in the summary despite it being out of my usual trading hours.

Trade records including pics are posted below.

Cheers

TWO PERCENT that is the most important thing. 26 pips and 2% account rise. Do you have any idea what it means? (asking everyone else not Grant)

1. MAGIC OF COMPOUNDING - http://itradeaims.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... pound#p221 - which island Grant will buy soon? :ymparty:

2. Reasonble risk used - no problem with margin/leverage

3. 26 pips are not much compared to weekly/monthly potential on M1 - and this just with one currency pair

4. Grant makes his pips constant although he has often to leave immediately for work, etc.

5. Who was allready in the Live Aimsters room knows, that Grant trades quite conservative (simple according to his flowchart) - so his trades are no gambling

6. Start again at 1. MAGIC OF COMPOUNDING...
