Luke's Journal of setup 1

Unread post by llau18 »

Hello, my name is Luke and I am excited to be here.  I have been trading on and off for years but have never had consistency and it has not been stress free.  I read the book Trading Chaos by Bill Williams many years ago.  I have always been interested in learning how to trade for myself.  I find the market fascinating and am curious to learn more.  I have read the material and different topics.  I am ready to start the first batch of my T20 for setup 1.    If anybody has suggestions in terms of posts I should read and where to start on the forum, that would be very helpful.

thank you,

Luke

thank you for the welcome email!

Trade #2

Date 12/09/2020 time of trade 17:52
Traded the DJ30
setup 1 short
I was excited to get into the trade. I saw a good setup and the rules were met. When it got close to my target I really wanted to take the profit. I was thinking there was a double bottom and got scared it would rally back and ruin the trade. I was so close to moving my take profit target but then realized this is a demo account. I need to stay disciplined...Took a deep breath and walked away. A couple minutes later my trade hit the profit target. I was very excited and relieved. I know thats a lot of emotions. I need need to chill. :)
DS score +1
Running total +2

I have worked for the past 4 weeks on setup 1's and focusing on the new method. I have a base understanding of setup 1 and understand the fractal geometry. I have been very focused on the Waltz pattern and today took this trade in my demo account. I love when the Waltz is early in a trend and there is a clear breakout. I was excited to see it and it worked nicely.
Date 12/23
traded long the Eur USD
excited to spot the nice setup
DS score +1
Running total +3

If anybody out there is focused on the Waltz I would love to know if you are able to setup alerts in some way to tell you if you are getting a waltz pattern on different time frames and different currency pairs or indexes.

The red arrow at the right side of the chart is where I entered. I exited with 1R. I should be taking off 1/2 and letting the rest run but I have started out simply going for 1R trades to make sure I am spotting proper setups. I would like to now take 1/2 off at 1R and let the rest run.

trade 5
eur usd 5 min chart
long waltz setup
I was happy to see another signal..but a little nervous the trend had been going on for several bars and price was well away from the moving averages
I lost 1 R.
I need to be a bit more selective and not be so excited to see the signal. It was a nice breakout but certainly away from the moving averages.
I give myself a -1 for discipline on this trade
running discipline score would be a +3

The Strong Trend Candle followed by a SEED candle that appears near its highs (bullish example) as you have pointed out. . is MY FAVOURITE trading pattern.
