Martinius' Journal

Unread post by Martinius »

Hey there everybody. This is Martinius and I'm from Norway/Italy (I keep traveling back and forth between these two countries).
I decided to start this journal so I can share my trades and hopefully get some aid on the way. Hope you AIMS veterans can come with proper insights! :)

Here is my first trade! Comments are VERY welcome since I am new to this approach even though I've been studing all three books from Bill Williams. So give input guys! I really need it! :)

Hi there AIMSters! I'm back on track after some time off. Preparing my journey back to Norway, so I'm enjoying my last days in Italy. Here's a trade I took today that nettes 12 nice pips and an account increase of 1.7%.

Pretty standard trade using a setup 1. I looked at the AO for small bars close to zero and could confirm that. Alligator lines were intertwined. I put my PO on the long side since I wanted to go away from the purple line as per the rules. PO was placed 1 pip above the lastest AIMS level plus spread. Shortly after the price made a sudden jump upwards taking my Buy Stop Order and continued up very quickly. Reason I took profit was this quick action that was a little too fast in my opinion so I decided to close at 12 pips profit.
Another reason that made me take the trade was the fact that price was probably in a wave for during the ranging period so I was expecting a wave 5 to the upwards. A quick count was done using the AO wave count tecninque as thought. Pretty trade, but I have to learn to keep my cool when I'm in a profitable trade!

Hi Martinius

A very good trade in my opinion. WEll Done. The percentage growth is very good indeed though with 12 pips i think you might be taking slightly bigger positions than I would but thats all upto yous. if you think you're ok with , "emotionally" then its ok.

You've pointed to wave 3 and 5 spot on. we must understand that at any given point we never know if our count is going to be correct later on, and thats what we dont care about, what we care about is what the market tells us at that given point in time-space. llooking at this chart where it is in this picture, i'd have assumed the same. that would have given me reason to draw a fib exp perhaps and may be timed my exit at at either FE 62 ie. what we call TZ (target zone) 1 or TZ2.

well done again

Hi there Immy!
Thanks for dropping in!
Yeah, I used 1 standard lot, but when I saw the growth I thought I must have miscalculated the lot size... I have to be more careful :)
As far as Wave count go, I'm getting the hang of it. To get the target zone for wave 5, do you draw the expansion from beginning of wave 1 or beginning of wave 3?
Thanks again for your support :) Have a good trading week!

Hi Martinius,

for wave 5 targets, draw the FE from the low of 1 to the high of 3 to the low of 4. the target zone is then the FE 62 - FE 100...

cheers

Hey there everybody! Hope you are all having a good start of the week. Trading the London Session at the moment and this is the first trade of this week.
As described in the picture, this is not a "pristine" Setup 1, but the conditions are there. Rules of Setup 1 were followed and I trailed bars and managed to lock in 6 pips. An ok start for this early Monday morning.

Second trade this early Monday and is it just me, or is it hard to gauge the Elliott Wave count today. I have struggled with the count all morning. Anyway, managed another 3 tiny PIPs on this one. Was expecting a wave 5 after what looks like a confired wave 4. All rules were in place for a Setup 1. As soon as I got triggered price rose and I trailed the bars as usual, rapidly putting my self in a risk free trade. This might have been a little too tight strategy, but it got my out on top of this little jump up which now seems to have declined further. Maybe my elliott wave count is a bit of today, but I have managed some pips so far so won't complain. Have a look!

afternoon,

i took that trade as well for a small rent.....

as for the count, keep moving up a TF until you can see a clear picture. m15 shows a nice 1-5 sequence, so we were both trying to get into a potential last push up of that 5th wave, it just didnt play ball...

i wouldnt worry too much about wave 4 going into wave 1 either, follow the peaks on AO and you will not go far wrong...

good trading , keep it up..

cheers

Hey there Grant and thanks for your input! Precious advice as usual :)
I'm satisified with my day, but damn what good trades I have missed today... Some great moves on the 1m EUR/USD today. Anyway, we can't regret on what we didn't act upon can we? :) Happy trading!
