Emma´s Challenge M5

Unread post by eaxh »

Long story short.

In the late spring this year i started a challenge to get another funded account. I passed phase 1 and started phase 2.
I was afraid of not passing. I did not trade my best.
I took a pause during the summer and when i came back from holiday i was in a DD and my trading had some hesitation and it was hard to stay on track. I missed trades due to hesitation and i was too cautious. That resulted in the account staying in DD.

I had 2 days left and i was MISERABLE and dissapointed.
I was feeling like that was it. i cannot take another challenge in a long time, due to economy, a challenge is not free.....
That feeling made me go bananas, i had nothing to lose at that point. the challenge was most probably failed anyway.
I have never traded that confident. I took every setup. I day before the timelimit i was about 400 dollars form the target in equity. it went a bit down from that. and i was nowhere near ending in positive to ger a free retry.

The last hours i sat at the computer and i was LUCKY. It was a gamble that went in my favour.

So here i am with a free retry. I have not digested it yet. I am still chocked. I will start the new phase one in a couple of days.

Timeframe : M5
Instrument : EU GU ( usually GU, EU is not that cute) UJ, And the indices DAX/NAS/DOW, dax have the best spread. but nas can move very clean sometimes and DOW move in big BO phases sometimes.

Strategy/Rules : Banana, cute setups which is TP (Waltz) TTP,TTPP,TTTP,TTTPP. SOME variations is allowed. A little wicks in the impuls is OK, but not too many. Max 5 candle impuls

Context : The HTF MUST be out of range/not in a tight range. Wide range is OK. CTF MUST be trending and make a range( HTF pullback)

Filter :
News in a short time.
If i am uncertain about the context its best to filter it. My concern means something, Its the brain reminding me of that there is something i overlook.
3rd pullback is not taken unless i have taken the first two and have profit from them.
Climatic move ( a very big TC in the impuls, Moved too far too fast.
Levels to the left (if there is a wide range on HTF. Besides that i dont really look at levels to the left.

Day 1 Phase 1 Trade 1

Unread post by eaxh »

I would lie if i said that i was not nervous.
This means alot to me and of course i want to do the best i can.

I will do all i can to remain objective in my process of taking trades.

I placed my first today.

It was a range, a BO and a pullback. All according to the rules
The outcome does not taking away the Ds1 score.

phase 1 Day 2 Trade 2 and 3

Unread post by eaxh »

First trade

This is a grey zone trade. I cannot call it a DS0 because the context is there and the setup is there, although the setup is a bit climatic, and the signal a bit big. Not an A+ but not a trade that is going to ruin the overall result either.
trade 2 .png

Second trade of the day.
This is a nobrainer. So clear. A+ one.
trade 3.png

The first trade was a minor misstake, a trade that could have been filtering.
After that happen i had a bad feeling inside of me. It is scary to be in a challenge and the fear of the next setup to be a rent too is freaking me out.
the difference this time is that i was aware of that happening and i could stop me from not taking a secont trade based on the fear of it being a rent.
A second setup came up ( the nas trade) and i took it despite feeling the fear. A big win for me and my trading psycology)

Phase 1 Trade 4

Unread post by eaxh »

I am putting alot of pressure on  myself.
I am working on being objective and dont let the emotions choose my actions.

I placed a trade this morning it was a rent. NEXT.
I am seeing the context and setup as valid and i am not thinking through it further.

Anyhow, this is how i see it.
HTF did a setup in a the other direction ( than the pre dominent trend) and then a continuation in the "new" direction which made the setup on the CTF valid.

Later i watched UJ. The po was cancelled just to fly off. nothing i could have done about it.

Phase 1 Trade 5

Unread post by eaxh »

I had another rent today.
Feel like sh't to be honest.
I know one of my flaws is that i dont really have a longer perspective thinking.

This is one of many trades. Will not destroy me.
