Tom from Leeds's Journal

Unread post by tombacon89 »

Hi all,

I have decided to start my journal this week after having a look at the AIMS system for the past few weeks. I have been trying to identify trades and follow them to see what I 'would' have won/lost. From this week I will be trading the setups I see and posting my results on here. I welcome all comments and criticism and much appreciate all the help I can get.

Happy Pippin', Tom

Hi Tom

Firstly congratulations on starting your journal, definately a worthwhile exercise as is reading others.

A couple of observations on todays trades, the first one was a green dot candle, with these it's a setup2 and best to wait for a new aims level to form then reassess the trade based on the new level with respect to the AO and risk.

On the second trade, there were several levels like the 5 15 and 60 min above the trade that price would need to break through. These can be best seen with an indicator that Steve developed, I'll try and find the link on here for you.

Well managed on the exits though.

Cheers

Mike

thanks for your info, looking back on the 2nd trade I can see the aligator is sloping downwards slightly - should I have thought twice about this trade based on that?

Yep, good observation, Grant's journal is a great read especially on how he sees the dots very worthwhile exercise sitting with the chart and a copy of his analysis.

I'm a long way from mastering the method but every trade is one we can learn from

Week 1 - Day 3 - Thursday 8th Feb

Purchased & Installed steve's indicator this afternoon, shortly after I took a short trade below the 15min aims level.

1. +7.2 pips, +0.35%. Took a trailing stop method to exit the trade however I could have made 10 pips. Need to practice exiting trades efficiently!!
