Romans Journal

Unread post by CHEROMEYS »

Hi Everyone,

After some time I have decided to open my own Journal, as I don't seem to be having any success with the Aims system ~x( , I know I'm doing something wrong but I can't seem to figure out just what that is.

At the moment I am using the V2.1 version until such time as I am consistently profitable, when that time comes I will move onto V5.1, I will post pic's of my charts and would really appreciate comments/opinions, I would also be appreciative if there is any literature you could recommend.

thanks

Demo is the way to go. If you're not confident you'll just make mistakes. So best to hone skills in a simulation environment and then try to emulate that into live arena!

Hi All,
I have a hypothetical question, in the Pic attached is a recent market situation, we have a break of the M5 AIMS level on the M1 time frame, Gator has it's mouth open to the down side and moving away from the Purple line on the M1 chart, now although I know this is not a valid trade due to the fact that we do not have a fresh cross of AO, I was wondering that if we did have a fresh cross of AO.... would it be counted as a valid signal seeing as we would be trading towards the purple line on the M5 window?
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

Thanks
Roman

Its great to see people with pictures! nice to see you Grant... sorry Roman! (You're not Grant Right?) for a moment I thought it was him nevermind... Hey you might want to see Steve over the Weekend for a pint or 20... He's currently busy "Creating the Stickiest Bogeys" but still you'd love to meet him. haha

ok to your question. It all depends on your trading style. That m5 is telling you trend is UP. and if you take a short it might be against it. But if you were trying to catch a reversal based on some other reason, e.g. you just love reversals or you believe even higher time frames are suggesting shorts etc the yes, at the double aims break we would go short, if it was a proper S1 short. for now, looking at m15 it seems we are either in a choppy or up market.

cheers

Hi Roman, and congratulations on starting your journal.
Firstly, it is important to understand that the purple line is equal to the red line of the 5 x higher timeframe. So when we say on M1 that we trade away from purple then it also means that we trade away from the red line of the alligator on M5. Remember, we never want to feed the alligator, always trade out of the alligator's mouth. So trading away from purple on M1 is trading away from alligators mouth on M5. The purple is just a way of visualising the higher timeframe on the M1 chart.
So with that in mind, to also be trading away from the purple on M5 would be the same as trading away from the red line on a M25 chart. Now if you want to be conservative and keep the trend of the higher timeframe and also of the higher higher timeframes on your side then you could take the purple on the M5 chart into consideration. But generally we don't worry about the purple on the M5, and I know the best and most consistent traders here don't worry about it.
Either way, set your rules and stick to them. Ignoring the M5 purple will give you more entries or filtering by using it will give you higher probability setups.
Hope that makes sense.
Dave
Now, I choose to make a profit in trading.

HI Everyone,

see attached a pic of a trade that I took this morning,
I set the R/R ratio to 1/1 (until I get the hang of Aims)
The trade was moving away from both the M1 & M5 purple line, I entered on the Break of the M1 Aims and the trade dropped right down to it's TP level.
Your comments/advice are welcome.

Thanks
Roman
